Templates and Forms

Prepare the files required for a new manuscript submission and access the relevant JSOMER templates and forms within each section below.

Before you submit

Files Required at Initial Submission

When submitting a manuscript for the first time, authors must upload the files listed below to the JSOMER submission system. Preparing these items in advance helps protect anonymous peer review and prevents avoidable delays during the initial editorial screening.

Anonymous full text

Upload the complete manuscript prepared using the JSOMER Anonymous Manuscript Template. Remove author names, affiliations, acknowledgments, funding details, and other information that could reasonably identify the authors.

File type: Full TextAccepted format: .doc or .docx

Separate title page

Upload author names, institutional affiliations, corresponding-author details, acknowledgments, funding information, and other identifying manuscript information in a separate title page.

File type: Cover PageAccepted format: .doc or .docx

Similarity report

Upload the manuscript’s similarity report as a supporting file. JSOMER does not treat a similarity percentage as an automatic or self-sufficient finding of plagiarism. The editorial assessment considers the location, extent, source, and nature of the matched text; quotation and citation practices; legitimate methodological or technical overlap; text recycling; duplicate or redundant publication; and any attempt to conceal unattributed use. Authors must review the report carefully and correct all inappropriate overlap before submission. See the Plagiarism Policy for the applicable standards and editorial procedures.

File type: Similarity ReportAccepted format: .pdf

Research ethics documentation

Upload ethics committee or institutional review documentation when required for the study. If a duly authorized body has formally determined that the research is exempt or that review is not required, provide the relevant exemption, waiver, or determination where available. The manuscript must accurately report the name of the reviewing body, decision or approval number, and date, as applicable. Review articles do not automatically require ethics approval, but the requirement depends on the research activities and data involved. See the Research Ethics and Informed Consent Policy.

File type: Ethics DocumentationAccepted format: .pdf
